Spring Break

Ok, so technically for Ethan and I this is just a regular week for us, but we are having so much fun, we'll call it Spring Break just for kicks...as I catch up from the past few weeks.  Warning, this post is kind of photo heavy...

This is so far the "best" dancing footage I've been able to get; Ethan loves the camera, and quickly focuses on getting to it rather than just showing off.

Last week, Tyson was off on Monday and we headed to Slapout to drop Ethan off at my Mom's for quality time with Gam Gam.  Tyson and I had a lunch date (our first date in 10 months:) and then we headed to the NICU at Baptist East, to visit these adorable boys in the picture below.  I've known their Mom, Rebecca, literally for her entire life, so it was such a joy to be able to hold and love on these beautiful, healthy baby boys.  They were born 12 weeks early and despite their prognoses, they have defied all odds and are testimony to God's miraculous power!

These next few pics are from the family birthday party that night.  Ethan is trying  his best to keep up with his cousins...

In hot pursuit...
Ah, now I can spin those wheels!!!

It's all fun with the stroller till someone gets hurt
(he was fine, really)

A little more masculine in Dalton's ball cap

He LOVED playing ball with Carson and Dalton, the big boys!!

Future all-star?

Ok, now for pics from this week...

Sweet snuggling with Mommy :)

Tuesday for "Spring Break" fun, we met friends for lunch and then headed to the park, well-greased with sunscreen!

Ethan and Frances loved the swings

Frances was so sweet to share her beads!

How did Ethan repay her kindness, by trying to steal her bow!

"Mommy, what's going on?"

"Ethan, that's called payback."

Ethan and I have also been taking advantage of these beautiful mornings we've been having by going for a run.  He loves being outside and is quite content to ride along as I push.  Today he was waving at folks on the trail.

Rehydrating after this morning's run

Ahh, runner's high :)

Ethan is actually getting in plenty of his own exercise at home.  He is rarely ever still, and crawls fastest for an open door, especially if someone is going outside!  He is continuing to pull up on us or furniture and then let go and stand and clap for himself.  I even caught him doing in his pack n play today while I dried my hair...

Look Ma, no hands!!

He also loves all balls, any size or weight, or really basically anything he can throw...He surprises us sometimes with how far his "thrown" object travels!  After his 3rd Barbershop haircut (5th haircut total!!) today I thought we might need to start practicing for the upcoming Easter Egg hunt, so I got his basket out, and... yep, throwing the balls in; I sure hope there are no real eggs at the hunt!

Another new pastime is walking behind his push toy, which we just introduced last week.  He's gone from turning it over so he can spin the wheels, to walking on his knees behind it, to today, pulling up and taking steps by himself.  Trying to catch those steps on video, quite the challenge, as you'll see below...

Oh look, there's Daddy's cup of water...

This walking is cool, but I bet I can get daddy's phone!

Needless to say, we are having an absolute blast with Ethan.  It is so fun to watch him accomplish new things almost daily.  His smile is infectious and that twinkle in his eyes melts my heart.  I love watching him learn and practice new skills and feel immeasurably blest by the joy he brings to each day.
