What a difference a year makes!

This month, while it seems to be going so quickly, is a special month for us.  It was during the Mercedes Marathon weekend, one year ago, that we first learned of the possibility of Ethan becoming our son through adoption, as we were presented to and accepted by his birthmother.  Though we ran the same course this year as last, we certainly had a vastly different experience.  I can remember running last year with a smile on my face, dreaming of what Ethan would be like.  This year, as I ran, I again had the smile, but it was because Ethan has completely exceeded any of our hopes and dreams, reminding us once again how perfect God's will and timing are, and how much better are His plans than ours!  My how a year changes things!!
Ethan continues to be a joy, and he is becoming more and more vocal and expressing his opinions on a regular basis :).  It is so fun seeing his personality develop more and more each day.  Separation anxiety has also kicked in, so our first trial in the church nursery did not go so well, despite the valiant efforts of the loving and wonderful workers.  At home, he is on the move almost constantly, crawling super fast, pulling to stand on anything, and literally cruising around the room. He is getting braver and braver everyday, and even managed to climb up onto the fireplace hearth in a matter of seconds!  Never a dull moment around here!
Here are some pics from the past few weeks, including today's outing to the park with our 4-year old goddaughters, always a fun time!

I love reading with Daddy!!!

I also love feeding myself!
Mommy calls this my "sweet" pose!

Belated Happy Valentine's Day :)
I did not play with my Valentine's day gift exactly as Mommy intended...
I pulled it and all the animal magnets off the fridge and banged it on the floor
"Reading" Old MacDonald to myself, one of my favorites!

On the move

I love these dining room chairs, I don't know why they don't like for me to play with them...

And he's gone..

Mommy couldn't believe that I kept my shades on!

Chilling with Daddy in the swing!

Cool, even with a pink soccer ball :)

Mommy was afraid I might get sunburned...

So, she made me wear this goofy hat...

Still cool?

I love sliding with Ellison,

and Elizabeth,

and Emory!

I also think I am big stuff standing at the slide!

It won't be long before I can keep up with these girls!!!
