Snow!!!

We went to the gym, as usual, on Tuesday morning since the weather predictions were for a "dusting."  When it started snowing midway through my class, I was distracted by the beauty of it, and found myself hoping it would last until class was over so that Ethan could see it.  I had no idea that it would continue to snow for hours and quickly go from beautiful to treacherous.  We made it home, praying all the way, after slipping and sliding and getting stuck on ice, detouring several times, and never have I been as thankful as I was to be at home.  Once I saw the news, I realized how truly fortunate we were and that our adventurous ride home was nothing compared to so many of our friends and neighbors.  Tyson, unfortunately has been stuck at UAB since Tuesday, but just got home!  As much as we have missed him, we have been thankful, knowing that he was safe and warm.

Ethan has so enjoyed the snow and we have tried to make the most of it, in short bursts due to the COLD!  Carter appears to enjoy the snow from the distance, as you will see in the pics below:)  Several things I have learned from Snow 2014...
1.  We really need to get E some waterproof gloves in his size!
2.  Apparently Snow is what it takes to get E to willingly wear rain boots and a coat
3.  I don't tell Tyson enough how much I appreciate him and all he does around the house!

A Belated Merry Christmas!

So, it's almost been a month since Christmas, and I'm finally getting around to posting Christmas pics... such is the life with 2 busy little ones!  We had a wonderful Christmas! Everyone was feeling better and we were so thankful for that!  The boys were at such fun ages for Christmas this year; Ethan's face was priceless as he saw his Christmas spread, and he continued for several days to ask each morning, "my Christmas toys are still here?"  Carter was curious about everything and REALLY enjoyed the paper and ribbons, especially the ones he managed to eat before we could get them away from him.  He also really enjoyed his new toys too, reaching for them and tasting each one:)  We had a great time visiting with family and then returning home to relax for a weekend of "de-Christmasing".
Since Christmas, we've been playing mostly indoors due to the cold weather, so we are grateful for all the new toys and books that the boys received:)

In other news, Carter turned 7 months old on the 12th, has 2 new teeth, and weighed in at 22 lbs., 28 3/4 inches at his check-up last week!  He is growing growing growing, and is such a joy!  He can sit very well, and can get himself out of sitting, though not usually gracefully.  He has learned to shake his head back and forth, appears to "dance" in sitting, and is banging toys together and trying to clap.  He can roll to get what he wants, laughs (especially at his brother Ethan), and loves eating solid food, and would really prefer to hold the spoon:)  Ethan continues to talk up a storm, loves trains, his new tracks, loves reading books, and is so good with Carter.  We could not have asked for a sweeter relationship that continues to develop between these sweet brothers.  We continue to be amazed at God's goodness and blessings in His gift of these two precious boys to our family and we are thankful everyday for the joy that they bring to our life!

Below are a few of the pics from Christmas and the past month.
