15 months

Ethan turned 15 months old on Saturday, and I realized that it has been quite awhile since I've updated the blog.  Our summer has been pretty busy and he keeps me on my toes, which means not a lot of time at the computer:)  A quick recap of summer so far:  fun play dates with friends, trips to the programs at the library, playing at the Museum of Art, swimming with friends, Kindermusik, and birthday parties.  He had a great 15-month check-up; 97th percentile for height, and 90th percentile for weight.  He was perfectly still for the doctor's exam and barely cried for shots, but getting weighed was worst part (it's my least favorite part of doctor's visits too:)  These days Ethan is running rather than walking, "stomping", trying to jump-sometimes surprising himself and us when he is successful, climbing on anything and everything, walking up stairs with hands-held.  His current favorite activity is stacking toys and then trying to stand on them, when he's not still trying to get his Lil Zoomer's toy to spin him-as you'll see below in the pics.  He has also gained many words this summer, and has about 20, 10-12 of which he uses on a regular basis.  Ethan also loves dancing, especially to "Mama Paquita", his favorite song from the Kindermusik cd, and requests that song multiple times every day.  He is getting better feeding himself with a spoon, likes to scribble, and LOVES to tear paper, and still loves his books and for us to read to him, although this is mostly at bedtime these days, because he is too busy to sit during the day.  He still loves all dogs, especially Milli, but she still does not return his affection, but she's more tolerant of him.  This is a busy age for sure, but it is such a fun time too!  It is amazing to watch him learning so many new skills, and see his determination as he tries new things.  We are so thankful for our little blessing and for the excitement and joy he brings to each day!  Here are a few pics from the summer.

Family Beach Trip 2012

So to say that there are a LOT of pics would be an understatement, so I'll give a brief summary of the trip and get to the many photos.  Ethan was a trooper for the car ride down and back; LOVED LOVED LOVED floating in the lazy river, enjoyed the baby pool, liked the sand on the first day and was fascinated by the waves; scared of the waves on our second beach day, but totally fine with chilling in the shade, under the tent, in the baby float filled with water and toys.  LOVED playing with his cousins, and LOVED getting spoiled by his Gam Gam and Pop Pop (also known as "yeah"-according to Ethan); and how could I forget, pointed out any and ALL birds (as you could imagine there were plenty), but called them all "ducks"... (Many a photo interrupted by "ducks" flying overhead...) Great trip had by all, now for the "grandparent detox week"...
Hope you enjoy the pics as much as we did capturing these fun moments!

 First time at the pool

"A duck"

Swimming and a ball, could life get any better?

You talking to ME?

Now this is the life!

Beach Day
1st time "in the sand"

I like it!

Filling up the bucket

Like my chair, not so sure about the ocean...

Thanks Gam Gam and Pop Pop for building all these castles for me to knock down!
Throwing the sand, definitely his favorite part of this day!

Keeping an eye on those waves...

Attempting a "Portrait" Session on the beach....

One of the few smiles while looking in the direction of the camera...

"A duck!"

Waving at Gam Gam

Where did that "duck" go?

Clapping for myself...

Yep, another "duck"

More self-applauding

Enough of this towel, I want that sand!

Love my Daddy!!!

Sweet boy!

Smiling at Gam Gam

Love him!

You guessed it! "a duck"

 Beach Day #2
Happy as a clam in his boat filled with water under the tent

Natalie Kate, also happy as long as she was under the tent in a chair or lap!

It's like a bathtub outside!

Checking out the ocean with Daddy...

Nope, still scared of those loud waves!

Telling Carson all about it!

E keeping an eye on the waves instead of the camera!

Carson and Dalton; of course they were this sweet to one another the whole week ;)

What a fun trip!!

We had such a fun and relaxing week!  Such a blessing to be able to spend time and make fun memories with family!  Special thanks to Gam Gam and Pop Pop for providing such a great place to stay and for the delicious meals that they prepared.
