Summer 2016 highlights

So summer has come and almost gone (preschool starts back next week), and zero blogs so far... We've had a fun and busy summer.  Summer started off with E's 5th bday in May, and C's 3rd bday in June. June was also a busy month with VBS, lake trips and a family beach trip.  July brought more time at the lake, and LOTS of swimming at the Y.  E and C both learned to swim this summer, and E passed his swim test.  C can swim, but has not yet mastered "treading" water.  E also started tennis lessons this summer and will be continuing into the fall.  We were given a trampoline by sweet neighbors, so much time has also been spent jumping!  We've also spent lots of time at the library, McWane Center, zoo, Let's play, and on our inflatable water slide.  Here are some highlights in pictures from the summer.  We are all excited about meeting the teacher and starting a new school for 5K and 3K in 8 days, but who is counting...

Disney 2016

We returned Friday from 5 days at Walt Disney World, and just like last year, it was so fun to experience it through the eyes of our boys.  We stayed at Wilderness Lodge, and loved being able to take a boat or bus for traveling; also the resort was mostly empty and uncrowded which was a treat!  The boys were troopers, up early most days and we had a busy touring plan, but they loved getting to ride all their favorite rides.  Highlights for C were meeting the characters and his favorite ride, It's a small world, which he and I rode 3 times in a row one day; his excited face each time was what kept getting me back in that line, knowing that song will be on repeat in my head x forever...  E's loved meeting the characters too, but his favorite day was at Hollywood Studios, where he rode Star Tours 2x, met Chewbacca and Kylo Ren, and fought Darth Vader in the Jedi Training.  We recovered from a traumatic Splash Mountain experience on the 1st day, and quickly recognized that thrill, or "hill" rides as C called them, were off the list! We had a short day, as planned, at Epcot, and then swam for maybe 5 hours that afternoon.  I'm pretty sure the boys liked swimming as well as or more than anything else we did... This year we did the memory maker photo pass, and it was a treat to have someone else taking pics too; I posted some of those on FB, but here are the "unprofessional" pics!

After a rest break Midday, they powered through until Wishes on our last night
We had such a great time and were thankful that we had safe travels and that everyone was healthy.  The weather was just about perfect and we were able to do everything we wanted.  Their ages made it such a special trip and we will enjoy the memories made for years to come.  Thanks Mickey, See You Real Soon!
